The seats for which Samajwadi party has declared candidates include major seats like Faizabad, Mainpuri, Ambedkar Nagar, Gorakhpur and Badaun. Apart from this, Samajwadi party has appointed former minister Surendra Singh patel in-charge for varanasi, which is considered the most important center for Purvanchal. Surendra Singh patel said that our priority will be to convey the truth to the people of the state including Banaras.

In the upcoming elections, every soldier of Samajwadi party will work to convey the truth to the people. Moreover Surendra Singh patel, who has been active in politics for more than four decades, is a resident of Rohania assembly constituency (Rajatalab) of Varanasi. Agriculture sector is his main occupation and he has been a minister in SP government twice while he has also been an independent charge minister in BSP once. A large number of their joint families live together, apart from this, Surendra Singh patel has a distinct identity in the politics of Banaras due to his very normal personality.
