BJP's Nand Kumar Sai was elected mp in the 2004 lok sabha elections. murari Lal Singh in 2009, Kamal Bhan Singh in 2014 and Renuka Singh of bjp are representing Surguja lok sabha after winning the 17th lok sabha elections in 2019. At present Renuka Singh is also an mp and mla from Bharatpur Sonhat. Before becoming mla, Renuka Singh had been the Union minister of State. Surguja lok sabha is a tribal dominated area.
