Reportedly the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on monday questioned shiv sena (Uddhav balasaheb Thackeray) mla Ravindra Vaikar for nine hours in connection with alleged irregularities in the construction of a luxurious hotel in Jogeshwari, West Mumbai. An official said that Vaikar reached the central agency's office in South mumbai in the afternoon and left the office at 9 pm.

When leaving the investigating agency's office, he told reporters, "I have cooperated with ED officials and will do so in future also." If called, I will come again. I have done nothing wrong.'' The ED's money laundering probe stemmed from an FIR by the Economic Offenses Wing of mumbai Police which had alleged that Vaikar had financed the construction of a five-star hotel on a municipal corporation plot reserved for a park. Obtained permission illegally. According to the FIR, this caused huge loss to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

Earlier on january 9, the agency had conducted searches at seven premises in the city belonging to Vaikar and his business partners, associated entities and associated persons. The agency had recently recorded statements which settled the case related to alleged misuse of the land plot. Vaikar and other accused have denied the allegations against them. Vaikar was earlier summoned on january 17 and 23 but he had sought time for appearance. The ED investigation against Waikar, who represents Jogeshwari east constituency in the maharashtra Assembly, is based on a case registered by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of mumbai Police in september 2023
