Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan taking a stand contrary to democratic ideals: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan
It is noteworthy that in the recently held assembly session, governor Arif Mohammad did not read his entire speech and left after finishing his speech in just 1.5 seconds. Apart from this, it is noteworthy that many leaders of political parties in the state have ignored the Republic Day tea party held yesterday on january 26.
In this case, the governor has gone to participate in a program held at a place in kollam this morning. At that time, the activists of SFI, a left-wing student organization, had been waving black flags against governor arif mohammad khan and raising slogans of "Go Back" near the place called Nimelel.
Angered by this, governor Mohammad got out of his car, fetched a chair from a nearby tea shop, sat in the middle of the road and engaged in dharma for about an hour saying that he was not going to leave the place until the student activists were arrested.
While this has created a lot of excitement in the state, chief minister pinarayi vijayan has strongly condemned this action of the Governor. When reporters asked him about this, he pointed out that there is no authority above the law and that governor Mohammed's men had violated security regulations by leaving his vehicle.
He also said that governor Arif Khan has consistently taken a stand against such democratic principles. Speaking further, he questioned why the governor, who sat on the road for an hour, could not speak for even a second in the assembly session.
