Objectionable post on Lord Ram, people beat Dalit boy?
A case of assault on a Dalit student has come to light from Bidar, Karnataka. A 17-year-old Dalit school student was beaten up by members of a right-wing organization here for posting an objectionable post on Lord Ram. The Dalit student had shared a post with the picture of Lord ram and Lord Hanuman, in which it was written that they are not God. At present the police have registered a case and arrested three accused. According to the police, the accused have been charged under relevant sections of the indian Penal Code and SC/ST Act. This includes unfairly restraining a student, intentionally causing injury and threatening.
The incident happened on 22 January
According to the NDTV report, the police said that the incident took place on monday (January 22) in Humnabad Circle area of Bidar when the Ramlala pran Pratishtha ceremony was organized in Ayodhya. police said that the accused made a video of the incident and uploaded it on social media.
The student was dragged to the temple
It can be seen in the video that as soon as the Dalit student got down from the auto-rickshaw, a person present nearby slapped him. The student is surrounded by many people. After this the accused drag him away.
Video viral on social media
In the video, the boy can be seen standing in front of the deity with folded hands, while others stand around him. In the second frame, he is seen checking the phone of the minor. The police had registered a case on tuesday (January 23) after the video made by the accused went viral.
