Tamil Nadu minister Udayanidhi stalin has said that no imposition can come close to tamil Nadu, not just hindi imposition.


In 1937, the congress government led by then chief minister Rajaji decreed that hindi should be taught compulsorily in chennai provincial schools. A huge protest was held in tamil Nadu against this. Students, youth and public participated in this anti-Hindi protest and lost their lives.


In 1965, from 25th january to 15th march 1965, seventy people died in the anti-Hindi protest which continued for fifty days. Six people died in the fire. Two people are said to have died after consuming poison. The religious anti-Hindi movement in tamil Nadu is still alive in history.


The language war Martyrs Day is observed every year on 25th january to commemorate the hundreds who lost their lives participating in the anti-imposition of hindi movement. In that way, in order to remember the language war martyrs across the state, the language war martyrs salute was observed today on behalf of various political parties. The ruling DMK paid homage to the language war martyrs at various places.

In this situation, not only hindi imposition, no imposition can come close to tamil Nadu, said DMK youth Secretary and tamil Nadu sports minister Udayanidhi Stalin.
