Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu prasad met bihar Chief minister and JDU chief nitish kumar at his residence on Friday. On this occasion, Lalu Prasad's son and deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav was also with him. Tejashwi Yadav, who returned to his residence after the meeting, told reporters that the rumors of the rift were different from the "ground reality".

There is speculation that JDU, which won 16 seats in the 2019 lok sabha elections as an ally of the national democratic alliance (NDA), will not agree to a lower number this time, while RJD, which did not win a single seat in 2019, will maintain its strength in the Assembly. Will ask for more seats citing better numbers. Union home minister amit shah has indicated in a recent interview that NDA's doors are not closed for the JDU chief.
