Deepfake video case of Rajasthan's female MLA gained momentum

The issue of deepfake video of Rajasthan's female mla is gaining momentum. Now assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has sought a report from the police regarding this matter. After the deepfake video of the woman mla went viral, she had lodged a complaint in the SP office. The mla had also written a letter to the rajasthan assembly Speaker asking him to take the strictest action against those accused of making fake videos and making them viral, after which he has now asked the police to investigate. Taking immediate action regarding this matter, assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani has asked Bharatpur Inspector General (IG) to investigate the matter and send a detailed report by january 23. According to officials, mischievous elements tried to defame an independent woman mla from rajasthan on social media. By editing the photo of the mla, an obscene fake video was made viral on social media.

In this video, along with the photo of the mla, an objectionable photo of another woman has also been added. Officials said that after the video went viral, the mla started receiving calls. He immediately contacted Superintendent of police (SP) Mridul Kachhawa and got the case registered. Officials said further investigation is underway.

'Trying to tarnish my image'

After this deepfake went viral, the independent mla said, "A video is going viral on social media, in which my photo has also been edited and added. I have nothing to do with this video." The mla further said, “An attempt is being made to tarnish my social image by editing my photo and making it viral in such objectionable videos.
