Temporary Mini Control rooms to protect chennai people
In view of pongal in Chennai, 3 Temporary mini Control rooms have been set up from Laborer Statue to gandhi Statue, police Help Centers have been set up at the entrance gates of 7 service roads from Laborer Statue to Lighthouse, 8 ambulances with medical teams for emergency medical assistance and fire brigade for rescue work. 2 fire engines with soldiers will be kept ready. Apart from these, motor boats and around 200 volunteers who know how to swim will be kept ready for rescue operations.
13 temporary police high towers will be erected on the sand from the statue of the laborer to the lighthouse and a police team of 3 will be posted in each high tower. They will be provided with walkie talkies, mega phones and binoculars, a whatsapp group will be set up, the guards will monitor through binoculars and give instructions to the public through mega phones, and they will provide instant information to the control room through walkie talkies and watch groups. Also, 13 additional CCTV cameras will be installed at 12 key locations and monitoring will be done on wide screens in the temporary control room.
As the public is prohibited from bathing in the sea during the festival of pongal, barricade fences will be erected along the beach and monitoring will be carried out
