Nani Palkhivala, a great man with a brilliant intellect..?

Palkhivala, who was born in bombay (now Mumbai) in 1920, began practising law in 1946. Palkhiwala began practising on his own after becoming acquainted with renowned attorney Jamsetji Behramji Kanga. Public interest issues used to be Palkhiwala's first concern when he first started practising law. The government was rocked by his tenacious defence of RC Kapoor v. government of India. Following this case's triumph, indira gandhi found herself in a vulnerable position. He did, however, quickly amend the Constitution to overturn this supreme court ruling. Additionally, Palkhiwala argued in Kesavanand Bharti v. government of India.

It is stated that the decision in this instance unified the opposition leaders against Indira. The nation declared an emergency shortly after this case's verdict. In his biography We the people, Palkhiwala states that indira gandhi established a 13-judge constitutional bench four months after the Emergency was declared. It was suggested to this court that the ruling in Keshavanand Bharti v. government of india be reversed.

Palkhiwala claims that as soon as she learned about it, she hurried to the court and vehemently objected. The court moved to prepare for the hearing as soon as it saw my protest. Upon discovering this, the administration made the decision to dissolve this bench.

Palkhiwala opposed the ram Janmabhoomi controversy and the Mandal movement in the 1990s. According to Palkhiwala, the leaders are agitating these problems for their own gain. In an article published at the time, Palkhiwala suggested that we think about doing away with the Constitution. Some people are responsible even if they are not accountable because of democracy and the Constitution.
