Sanjay Bandopadhyay, a 1988 batch officer of the indian Administrative service, had gone to the Center on deputation in the year 2018. Terminating his deputation, he has once again been called to Madhya Pradesh. As soon as his services came under the control of the state government, speculations began that he could be given the responsibility of the post of Chief Secretary. However, the current Chief Secretary Veera Rana is retiring in March. It is being said that apart from Sanjay Bandopadhyay, many other officers are in the race for the post of CS.

However, with the sudden termination of deputation of Sanjay Bandopadhyay and handing over of his services to the state government, the market of discussion and speculation regarding his name has become heated. It is being told that Sanjay Bandopadhyay is retiring in august 2024. Before returning to madhya pradesh, Sanjay Bandopadhyay was the Chairman of Inland Waterways Authority of india at the Centre. The reason for leaving his important post and calling him to madhya pradesh is the possibility of giving him bigger responsibility here.

The countdown for lok sabha elections has started in the entire country including Madhya Pradesh. It is being said that madhya pradesh may get a new Chief Secretary before the lok sabha elections.
