Uncontrollable crowding at Sabarimala: Police unable to cope.. Devotees returning home!
Makara Jyoti Darshan is just a few days away. However, there is a situation where devotees cannot easily havedarshan of Ayyappan at Sabarimala.
Sabarimala Ayyappan temple was opened on 16th of last month for Mandal pooja and Makara Lampu Pooja. of devotees at the sabarimala Ayyappan temple from the day of its opening.The crowd erupted.
Ever since the beginning of the sabarimala season, the number of devotees who queue for hours to have darshan at sabarimala is increasing day by day. In view of the heavy traffic, the authorities allow pilgrims to the hilltemple only in a gradual and restricted manner.
Makar Jyoti Utsavam will be held on january 15. Lakhs of devotees come to sabarimala for this. Also the authorities have decided that spot booking will not be allowed from wednesday in view of Makara Jyoti darshan.
The number of devotees coming through Bullumedu has also increased significantly.Ever since Mandal Puja started in the month of Karthika, sabarimala has seen an unprecedented number of devotees. A woman died in the crowd.However, the number of devotees at sabarimala did not decrease. The Devaswam Board is said to be taking various measures to control the crowd of devotees. But there is a situation where devotees wait for more than 10 hours for darshan.
