Final figures of Karanpur assembly seat of Rajasthan have arrived
Accordingly from this seat, congress candidate Rupinder Singh Kunnar has defeated his nearest rival and bjp candidate and state government minister Surendrapal Singh TT by 11,283 votes. bjp had made Surendrapal a minister, which congress also opposed. However, even after being made a minister, Surendrapal Singh has lost the election from TT Karanpur.
Meanwhile the ruling party suffered a major political blow on monday in the voting held on january 5 for Rajasthan's Karanpur assembly seat when its ministers lost the election. The commission said that Kunnar has defeated TT from Karanpur by a margin of 11283 votes. The election on this seat was postponed due to the death of the congress candidate. Voting for this seat was held on january 5 and counting took place on Monday.
According to the information available on the website of the election Department, congress candidate Rupinder Singh got 94,950 votes while TT got 83,667 votes. aam aadmi party candidate Pirathipal Singh, who stood at third place, got 11940 votes. With this victory, the number of congress MLAs in the 200-seat state assembly has increased to 70. The ruling bjp has 115 MLAs in the state. This defeat is being considered as a severe political blow for the bjp which came to power only about a month ago. The ruling bharatiya janata party (BJP) had included Surendrapal Singh TT, contesting from Karanpur seat, in the Council of Ministers as minister of State (Independent Charge) on december 30. He was given Agriculture Marketing Department, indira gandhi Canal Department and Minority Affairs and Waqf Department. This is the second consecutive defeat for TT. He stood third in the last assembly elections held in 2018.
