Abhishek Banerjee accused of teacher recruitment scam
West bengal Chief minister mamata Banerjee's nephew abhishek banerjee is also on the ED's radar. ED has questioned TMC general secretary abhishek banerjee and his wife Rujira several times in connection with the West bengal teacher recruitment scam. The Central Agency claims that when the kolkata office of Leaps and Bounds Private Limited Company was raided, documents containing suspicious transactions were recovered from there. abhishek banerjee has been the Chief Executive Officer of this company (April 2012 to january 2014). The agency has already arrested the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of this company, Sujay krishna Bhadra. So far, assets worth more than Rs 126 crore have been seized in the case.
Central agency ED says that the huge amount of money earned from the teacher scam was invested in his company. ED has all the evidence for this. However, abhishek banerjee has called all these allegations baseless. abhishek banerjee comes second after mamata banerjee in trinamool congress (TMC). He has a good status in the party and Bengal. In the coming time, abhishek can replace mamata banerjee in the party. The party also has a good hold on lok sabha seats. TMC rules 22 out of 48 seats in the state. In such a situation, the party may have to suffer a big loss due to the arrest of abhishek banerjee before the elections.
