Fraud by talking like the PM? Deep Fake Technology..!?

A video of Singaporean prime minister Lee Hsien Loong promoting an investment product went viral on the internet a few days ago. But it was found to be fake news. Speaking today on friday December 29, the prime minister of singapore, Mr. Lee urged the public not to trust any scam videos promising guaranteed returns on investments or payments. He also said that these scams are being done using his data-face. "Fraudsters are turning our authentic footage from official events into highly believable but completely fake videos that purport to say things we've never said," he warned in his data-facebook post.


Mr. Lee added. "We must be vigilant and learn to protect ourselves and our loved ones against such scams," he said in his post. In the faked video, Mr. Lee is interviewed. In it, they discuss an investment opportunity said to be approved by the Singaporean government, which the prime minister calls a "revolutionary investment platform designed by Elon Musk."
