From january 2024 to december 2028, no ration card holders will have to pay for rice. For this, the Food Department has issued orders to all the collectors of the state. Now all ration card holders can buy rice from fair price shops without spending money from next month. In fact, following the instructions of chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has issued instructions to all the collectors in this matter on Tuesday. With this decision, 67 lakh 92 thousand 153 eligible ration card holders of Antyodaya, Priority, Disabled and Single Destitute categories of the state will get free rice through government fair price shops as per their eligibility.
Ration card holders belonging to these categories will get benefits

Instructions have been given to distribute free rice to the disabled and single destitute category ration card holders for the next 5 years.
No relief for sugar salt yet
Food Department officials said that under the Food Security Act, 14 lakh 92 thousand 438 ration card holders of Antyodaya category, 52 lakh 46 thousand 656 of priority category, 37 thousand 708 of single destitute category and 15 thousand 351 ration card holders of disabled category will get the benefit. . However, apart from rice, fixed amount will have to be paid for gram, sugar and salt received through ration card. No relief has been given in this.
