A bad news has come for Congress. Its senior leader and former minister sunil Kedar and five others were found guilty on friday in the nagpur District Central Cooperative bank scam of about Rs 150 crore. Kedar has been the chairman of nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank. Others found guilty are Ketan Sheth, Nandkishore Trivedi, ashok Chaudhary, Subodh bhandari – all from Mumbai, and amit Verma from Ahmedabad.

The special court has sentenced congress mla and former minister sunil Kedar to five years imprisonment and asked him to pay a fine of Rs 10 lakh after he was convicted in the Rs 150 crore NDCCB scam. Five other accused have also been sentenced to the same jail term and fine.

What is the whole matter?

A magistrate court here on friday sentenced congress mla and former maharashtra minister sunil Kedar to five years' imprisonment for misappropriation of funds in the nagpur District Central Cooperative bank (NDCCB). Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate has delivered the verdict in the case of JV Pekhale-Purkar 2002. Kedar was convicted under section 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant) of the indian Penal Code, among other provisions. According to the prosecution, NDCCB suffered a loss of Rs 125 crore in government securities. In 2002, rules were violated while investing money through an investment firm home Trade Securities. Kedar was the chairman of the bank then.
