Decision on bail of AAP MP Sanjay Singh postponed

The decision on the bail plea of aam aadmi party (AAP) rajya sabha MP sanjay singh in the delhi Excise police Case was postponed on Thursday. Now Rouse Avenue court will give its verdict on Friday. Earlier, the court extended the judicial custody of sanjay singh till january 10 in the excise policy case. Also Special Judge M.K. Nagpal also asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to provide a copy of its fifth supplementary chargesheet and other related documents to Sanjay Singh.

sanjay singh was arrested in a money laundering case related to the alleged scam. During the hearing, the ED counsel sought time to provide Singh with the prosecution complaint (similar to the ED chargesheet) as well as previous prosecution complaints and some other documents. He said the issue of identification of a prosecution witness is still pending before the Witness Protection Committee. The lawyer said that an e-copy of the supplementary complaint has already been provided to the AAP leader as per the court's direction.

ED had arrested sanjay singh on october 4.

The court said that it is directed that in addition to copies of all the previous charge sheets, the documents and a copy of the fifth prosecution complaint should be made available to the counsel for the accused by december 23. “List it on january 10, when the hearing of the main case is scheduled,” the court said. The period of judicial custody is extended till january 10. sanjay singh was arrested by the anti-money laundering agency on october 4. The ED had filed its fifth prosecution complaint against sanjay singh on december 2 and the court had taken cognizance of it on december 19. On december 11, the court had extended his judicial custody for 10 days.
