Bengaluru man thanks BMTC for running Vayu Vajra bus just for him

Reportedly ever since Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) rolled out its special Vayu Vajra bus service, shuttling back and forth between Kempegowda international airport and various city spots, this air-conditioned delight has become a hit among commuters desperate to dodge the city’s notorious traffic. However, a particular BMTC bus recently made headlines for a unique journey, catering to just one passenger arriving at the airport and earning praise for its exceptional service.

The passenger, going by the handle @thisishariharen, didn’t hold back on the gratitude and took to the micro-blogging site ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to sing praises for the dynamic duo behind the wheel – the bus driver and the conductor. In a selfie shared with these unsung heroes, the OP declared, “Was coming back from the airport, These 2 gentlemen operated the bus just for me, just to keep up the timings. Gave me good company and a safe ride back home.”

The post sparked a flurry of responses, with one enthusiast applauding, “The crew @BMTC_BENGALURU for the airport services are the well cultured and very helpful to the passengers.” Another supporter chimed in, “Glad you used BMTC.” Yet, not everyone was on the same joyride, with a few questioning the economic logic of running an entire bus for a lone traveller. As one astutely observed, “Ideally They should have accomodated in another bus.” Adding financial context, another remarked, “95₹ per km is the running cost of this bus.”

In another quirky Bengaluru moment, a video went viral, showcasing a bus driver turning a traffic jam into his personal dining experience. Shared by instagram user sai chand Bayyavarapu, the footage captured the driver skillfully managing his time at Silk Board Junction. Enjoying a meal from a tiffin box and staying refreshed with a sip of water, he turned traffic chaos into a moment of practicality.
