Rouse Avenue court has reserved its verdict on the bail plea of aam aadmi party (AAP) rajya sabha mp Sanjay

Singh in the delhi Excise Policy Case. Now the court will give its verdict on december 21 at 4 pm. Sanjay Singh

is in ED custody since october 4. Earlier on Monday, the court had extended the judicial custody of Sanjay Singh

till december 21.

During the hearing in the court, the court also allowed sanjay singh to appear before the Privilege Committee of

Parliament to file his arguments in the breach of privilege case. sanjay singh was scheduled to appear before the

committee on october 5, however, the ED arrested him on october 4 in connection with the investigation into the

now defunct excise policy case, after a day-long search at his residence. The ED strongly opposed Sanjay Singh's

bail plea on december 9, arguing that the documents recovered from the AAP mp were not part of the judicial

record, exposing his alleged influence peddling.

There is no purpose in Sanjay Singh's continued detention

After this, Special Judge MK Nagpal adjourned the hearing till Monday, where the defense lawyer had to present

his defence. Advocates Zoheb Hussain and naveen Kumar Matta represented the ED during the proceedings. In

response, sanjay singh, through his legal representatives, appealed to the court for his release, saying that the

investigation against him had already ended. His defense stressed that Sanjay Singh's continued detention serves

no purpose, especially considering the ED has filed a charge sheet, signaling the end of his interrogation.
