Union minister Rajnath Singh has assured that all necessary relief assistance will be provided to the people of tamil Nadu.

4 districts namely chennai, Tiruvallur, kanchipuram and Chengalpattu experienced heavy rainfall on 2nd, 3rd and 4th due to Cyclone Migjam formed in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, these 4 districts, especially the areas under the chennai Corporation, have been severely affected. Various infrastructure like roads, bridges, public buildings have been damaged. In this situation, Union Defense minister Rajnath Singh came to chennai to inspect the damage caused by Cyclone Mijam. Rajnath Singh, who inspected the areas affected by Mijam storm rains and floods by helicopter, consulted with chief minister M.K.Stalin at the Chief Secretariat.


At that time, chief minister Stalin briefed the Union minister about the effects of floods. Union minister of State L. Murugan, minister Thangam Tennarasu, minister KKSSRR Ramachandran and Chief Secretary Sivadas meena were present in this meeting. Following this, Union minister Rajnath Singh has assured that all necessary relief assistance will be provided to the people of tamil Nadu. He said, "I personally inspected the areas affected by the storm and rain. I consulted with the chief minister and officials. prime minister Modi has assured that all necessary assistance will be provided to the people of tamil Nadu.


Apart from Rs 450 crore for flood relief in tamil Nadu, the central government has also provided Rs 561 crore for the chennai Flood Management Project. All necessary relief assistance to the people of tamilnadu will be provided promptly. The central government will provide all assistance to tamil Nadu to recover from the effects of storms and rains.” said.


Likewise, chief minister Stalin said, "A central government team will soon come to tamil Nadu to assess the effects of chennai rains and floods. The tamil Nadu government will continue to take steps to bring all areas back to normalcy. I have submitted a petition to minister Rajnath Singh regarding the demands of tamil Nadu. I have requested Rs.5060 crore from the National Disaster Relief Fund to carry out the relief work. I have requested the Union government to consider the request of the tamil Nadu government and provide appropriate relief funds.”
