Congress counts on ‘Mool OBC’ ahead of Rajasthan Assembly polls

The congress is attempting to save its bastion in rajasthan, while the bharatiya janata party (BJP) is attempting to make a return. The state goes to the elections on november 25. Among the congress party's core strategies, cultivating the 'Mool OBC' remains a priority. The term 'Mool OBC' refers to a group comprising more than 50% of Rajasthan's total Other Backward Class (OBC) voters who desire the advantages of OBC quota.

Mali, Teli, Kumhar, Nai, Dhobi, Ravana, and other castes are among them. They are among the OBC castes who say that the quota system benefits them insignificantly because the majority of seats are filled by the 'dominant OBC' group. The appointment of Lt Col (retd) kesari Singh to the rajasthan Public service Commission (RPSC) has been enthusiastically hailed by the state's 'Mool OBC' group.

Despite widespread resistance, Singh has been outspoken against the dominance of one community in the OBC reservation. According to Hukam Singh Kashyap, President of Mool OBC Sangharsh Samiri from Pali, the appointment of Lt Col (retd) kesari Singh is a huge relief for the OBC community.

"Our only hope is kesari Singh." There is no question that for the first time in RPSC history, someone is not afraid to tell the truth. He has made a stance for us, and maybe the young will profit from it soon. One caste receives roughly 20% of the reservation under the OBC quota, out of a total of 21%. "We have no objections to any dominant caste receiving reservation, but we also want our fair share of the quota promised in the Mandal Commission report," Kashyap remarked.

"We have big expectations for Singh. This discrimination in the OBC reservation must cease. After being granted OBC classification, Jats now hold more than 90% of the seats. We don't want to interfere with what they're getting; we just want our fair portion of the OBC reservation. We cannot allow our communities to continue in this manner. "The Mool OBC's situation is deteriorating with each passing year, and their share of reservation is being denied," said Kashyap, who belongs to the 'Mool OBC' Kahar caste.
