Through its late leader Rajesh Pilot, the bjp has attacked the congress, particularly the gandhi family, in the latter stages of the rajasthan election campaign. prime minister Narendra Modi claimed during a rally that the gandhi family exacted retribution on Rajesh Pilot's son sachin pilot for the latter's resistance. The prime minister made this comment in reference to Sachin Pilot's denial of a chief ministerial position. sachin pilot was regarded as a serious candidate for chief minister when the congress took power in rajasthan in 2018, however ashok Gehlot, a close friend of the gandhi family, was elected.

Congress is vehemently against the statement made by the Prime Minister. Even sachin pilot has denied any involvement in the squabble with the gandhi family. The prime minister doesn't have to worry about me, according to the junior pilot. Political disagreements between Rajesh Pilot and sonia gandhi have been discussed previously. Newspapers began to widely report about Pilot and Sonia's political disagreements around 1999.

Rajesh Pilot was the reason behind the congress not revealing the Prime Minister's identity prior to the 1999 elections. The majority of congress officials at the time demanded that sonia gandhi be named prime minister.
