States should discuss Cauvery and form a hardship formula: The four states should discuss the issue of Cauvery river water sharing and formulate a hardship formula and bring it to the fore. Former chief minister S. M. krishna has suggested that appropriate decisions should be taken regarding river water management in the framework of hardship formula. Speaking to reporters, he said that when data-faced with a difficult situation due to lack of rain, it is necessary to formulate a difficult formula on how to get Cauvery river water. He suggested that the four states of Cauvery river basin should discuss about the Sankasha Sutra and then make appropriate decisions about river water management within the framework of the Sankasha Sutra. Even when he was the chief minister, there was a tense situation on the Cauvery issue. The then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee called the Chief Ministers of the two states and held several meetings to try to negotiate, but to no avail. Finally the supreme court had to climb the stairs. Then the next step was taken by taking legal advice from the retired Chief Justice Venkatachaliah, Justice ravindra of the supreme Court.
