Chhattisgarh Elections: Elephants can disrupt voting in Raigarh

Sensitive polling booths will be determined based on the presence of elephants in tribal dominated areas. A

group of 70 elephants is roaming in the three ranges of Dharamjaigarh forest range of Raigarh district, Chaal,

Bojia and Aidoo forest areas. In such a situation, the entire focus of the forest department is on groups of

elephants. The district administration and police administration have made tight security arrangements for

peaceful voting in polling stations in urban areas, but it cannot be said when an atmosphere of unrest will arise in

tribal dominated areas. Forest Department officials will especially keep an eye on the activity with thermal

drones in those villages and polling stations of elephant-affected areas situated in rugged forests. In which what

Elephant friendly teams have been deployed

Forest department officials have fixed the duty of elephant friend team, elephant trackers and departmental staff

at a distance of 30 meters of every polling booth, even after this, the range will have the highest number of

elephants. Instructions have been given to keep an eye on that group of elephants so that if the group of elephants

comes towards rural areas, arrangements can be made in advance to stop or drive them away.

These are sensitive polling stations

A group of 22 elephants is present in 513 PF of Bark Range. Where there are two sensitive polling stations in

Bark. Apart from this, there are 2 polling stations in Bojia Navapara. A group of 35 elephants are roaming in 514

RF here. A group of 77 elephants are roaming in Dharamjaigarh forest division. Under the shadow of whose fear

the great sacrifice of assembly elections will be conducted. In this, especially the entire Chhal Range,

Dharamjaigarh and Kapu fall in the elephant affected areas.
