The court sent the accused praveen Chowgale to police custody for 14 days, along with Udupi Gaganasakhi Aynaz, who murdered four members of the same family. The accused praveen Arun Chougale, who had come to Udupi to murder air hostess Aynaz, then escaped by stabbing all the children found in the house with a knife to destroy the evidence, was arrested by the police and produced before the court. Praveen Arun Chowgale of Maharashtra's Sangli district, who was a co-employee of Aynaz who was working as an air hostess at the mangalore airport, had come to Udupi with the intention of murdering Aynaz. After murdering Aynaz, he stabbed all the people in the house with a knife to kill the screams of the family and to destroy the evidence. After Aynaz's murder, he also stabbed her mother, sister and the little boy to death with the same knife. He killed everyone in just 10 minutes and escaped from there. Within 15 minutes of the murder in Udupi, he went to the coastal bus station and from there he changed his shirt and head cap so that the police could not find his identity. Later, he evaded the police and went to belgaum and from there he planned to go to his hometown Sangli in Maharashtra. At this time, the police conducted a joint operation of belgaum and Udupi police for three consecutive days and arrested him in Kuduchi of belgaum district. Then he was brought to Udupi.

Speaking to the media, Udupi district Superintendent of police Dr. K. praveen Arun Chowgule has admitted that Arun killed four members of the same family in Udupi. However, the reason for the murder has not been ascertained during the investigation. There are three or four possible reasons for the murder. Can't tell the reason without a thorough investigation. The accused gave a confessional statement. His intention was to kill Aynaz. He said that the accused claimed to have killed the other three to escape and destroy the evidence.
