As part of the Chardham Road Project, construction of a national highway from Uttarkashi in uttarakhand to Yamunotri Dham is underway. As a part of this, the project of constructing a tunnel to connect Silkyara - Thandalgaon area is also underway. In this situation, on the 12th at 4 o'clock in the morning, there was an accident in the 60 meter long tunnel. In this accident, 40 workers were also trapped inside the mine. National and state disaster rescue teams and firemen rushed to the spot after receiving the information and are carrying out rescue operations. No one has died in this accident so far.


The work of rescuing the workers involved in the mining accident is still going on for the fourth day today. In this situation, the district Collector of uttarakhand has informed about when the workers involved in the mining accident in uttarakhand will be rescued. abhishek Rohilla, district Collector of uttarakhand, said, “With the help of a drilling machine, the work of rescuing the trapped laborers has started by inserting pipes into the ruins. If all goes according to plan, the trapped workers will be rescued by this evening.” said.


Earlier, amidst intensive rescue operations, a fresh landslide occurred yesterday. Due to this, rescue operations were hampered. Meanwhile, other miners protested at the site of the accident demanding the speedy rescue of the trapped workers.
