MP Election: 50% increase in the assets of the MLAs who are contesting

Only four more days are left for voting for madhya pradesh assembly elections. The enthusiasm for campaigning

by other parties including bjp and congress has increased. Before the elections, Association for Democracy

(ADR) and madhya pradesh election watch have made shocking revelations about the assets of 192 MLAs.

There has been an increase of almost 50 percent in the assets of 192 present MLAs contesting re-election in

Madhya Pradesh. According to the affidavit filed by these MLAs, during the 2018 assembly elections, their

average assets were Rs 11.91 crore, which has increased to Rs 17.81 crore in the year 2023.

This report is based on the affidavits filed by congress, bjp and other parties and independent MLAs. These

MLAs have filed nomination twice in the 2023 assembly elections and are trying their luck in the electoral battle.

The report claims that the assets of all these 192 MLAs have increased by an average of Rs 5.90 crore during the

assembly elections of 2018 and 2023, which is on an average 50 percent more than the previous assets of the

MLAs contesting re-election.

Huge increase in assets of BJP-Congress MLAs

There has been a huge increase in the assets of many bjp and congress candidates in the last five years.

According to the affidavit of bjp candidate from Ratlam, Chetanya Kashyap, his wealth has increased by Rs

91.45 crore in the last five years. In the 2018 assembly elections, his total assets were Rs 206.63 crore, which has

increased to Rs 296.08 crore in 2023. congress has again fielded Sanjay Sharma from Tendukheda assembly of

Narsinghpur district, he is currently the mla from here. Sanjay Sharma's wealth had also increased by Rs 81.55

crore in the last five years. In the 2018 elections, his assets were Rs 130.97 crore, while in 2023 this figure will

reach Rs 212.52 crore.
