Attack on OBC! PM Modi said - Congress did not give reservation

Sekar Chandra
Amidst the assembly elections, the war of words between congress and bjp regarding Other Backward Classes

(OBC) continues. On one hand, prime minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister amit shah said on

Monday (November 13) that congress did nothing for OBC reservation during its stay in the government. While

demanding caste census, congress leader rahul gandhi said that it should be found out what is the population of

OBC category in the country.

PM Modi said in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh, You have to recognize the mentality of Congress. This is the same

Congress which ran the government from panchayat to parliament, people gave them the opportunity to run the

government, but did not give reservation to the OBC community. This is the same congress which did not give

constitutional status to the OBC Commission. This is the same congress which did not implement OBC

reservation in medical colleges.

Mentioned Rajiv Gandhi

Taking aim at Madhya Pradesh, Union home minister amit shah said, congress has always insulted the OBC

community. When the Mandal Commission report came, congress suppressed it for many years. Rajiv Gandhi

opposed the implementation of Mandal Commission. The backward classes Commission was not given

constitutional recognition for 70 years.

What did rahul gandhi say?

While rallying in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh, former congress President rahul gandhi said, I want to

know what is the population of OBC category in the country. OBC officers decide 33 paisa out of Rs 100 and if

their population is 0.33 percent then it is fine, but OBC population is 50 percent. In such a situation, I told PM

Modi in parliament to conduct caste census. This will make it clear and know how many Generals, OBCs and

Dalits there are in the country.
