Nationalist congress Party (NCP) chief sharad pawar on saturday said that there is complete confusion in the

Narendra Modi government’s stand on the palestine issue amid the Israel-Hamas war. His comment came after

india abstained from voting on a resolution brought in the United Nations General assembly (UNGA) for an

immediate humanitarian ceasefire. Thousands of people have been killed in the Israeli action in Gaza in response

to the attack on israel by Hamas on october 7.

sharad pawar, in response to a question in the press conference, said that india has never supported the manner in

which Gaza is being attacked and hospitals are being bombed, in which thousands of people are being killed.

Former Defense minister Pawar claimed, “Today, there is complete confusion in the policy of the government of

India. I have never seen such confusion on the palestine and Gaza issue. The Prime Minister's first statement fully

supports Israel. When there was reaction from outside and inside india, the indian Ministry of External Affairs

took a different stand and gave a statement in support of Palestine.

india abstained from voting on the draft resolution titled Protecting civilians and upholding legal and

humanitarian obligations in the 193-member United Nations General assembly (UNGA). This resolution called

for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war and to ensure unhindered humanitarian access to

the Gaza Strip.
