With the announcement of assembly election dates in Chhattisgarh, the Model Code of Conduct came into force.

Since then, the monitoring team of the State election commission is continuously taking action. Till october 25,

state election parties took action and seized illegal money and valuables worth Rs 32 crore 75 lakh, which also

included cash amounting to Rs 8 crore 54 lakh.

Jewelery and gems worth more than Rs 14 crore seized

According to the information received from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Chhattisgarh, during the

monitoring by the enforcement agencies till october 25, 25 thousand 101 liters of illicit liquor has been seized,

which is worth Rs 76 lakh. Also, 2946 kg of other intoxicants worth approximately Rs 2 crore 47 lakh have been

seized. During the intensive investigation operation, more than 181 kg of precious jewelery and gems worth Rs 14

crore 46 lakh were also seized during the search. Apart from this, other materials worth Rs 6 crore 50 lakh have

also been seized.

10,854 weapons deposited, 28 canceled

Chief Electoral Officer reena Baba Saheb Kangale has given necessary guidelines to the district election Officers

and Superintendents of police of all the districts regarding taking necessary restrictive action to maintain law and

order in the assembly Elections 2023. In compliance with the guidelines issued by the election commission, out

of 12,499 licensed weapons, 10854 weapons have been collected and 3 have been confiscated. Apart from this, 28

weapons have been cancelled.
