If there is no decision on reservation, Shinde government will get a shock!

Sekar Chandra
Maratha movement may flare up again in Maharashtra. Manoj Jarange Patil, the leader of the ongoing movement

on reservation, had given an ultimatum till october 24 to the Shinde government of Maharashtra. Patil had

claimed that if his demands were not met by october 24, then a hunger strike would be started. The movement

regarding maratha reservation is going on since september 1, the agitators have many demands.

In this, the demand for giving OBC status to the people of maratha community is important. Till 1948, people of

Maratha community were considered Kunbi who came under OBC. In such a situation, the agitators are

demanding that Kunbi caste status should be given and included in OBC. In fact, maratha reservation is such

that it has had its influence in many districts. If we look at the political equation, the population of Marathas in

Maharashtra is around 33 percent, whose demand is to be included in the OBC category.

Good impact on these areas

Let us tell you that Marathas have good influence in Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, North Maharashtra. Out

of 288 seats in the Assembly, they play a decisive role in 75 seats. This issue can show its impact in the Lok

Sabha elections also. Moreover, maratha reservation has gone so far that many people have even lost their lives

due to it. On 21 october 2023, Shubham Pawar committed suicide by drinking poison in Nanded, Maharashtra.

On 18 october 2023, sunil Kawale committed suicide in Mumbai. On 18 september 2023, sudarshan Kamarikar

committed suicide in Himayatnagar, Maharashtra. On 6 september 2023, a farmer committed suicide by jumping

into a well in Dharashiv, Maharashtra. But till now no decision has been taken regarding this.
