Congress leader in maharashtra Sushil Kumar Shinde has retired from politics. With this, he became the second
leader of the state to retire from politics in a day. Earlier on Tuesday, Union minister Narayan Rane’s son Nilesh
Rane had also announced his retirement.
Sushil Kumar Shinde has declared his daughter Praniti Shinde as his successor. He has said that Praniti Shinde
will contest from his seat in the upcoming lok sabha elections. Sushil Kumar Shinde has been contesting
elections from Solapur lok sabha seat. In a program on the occasion of Vijayadashami, he said that now his
daughter Praniti Shinde will contest the lok sabha elections from Solapur. At the Dhamma Chakra program in
Solapur, Shinde said that he will continue to help wherever needed. 83-year-old Shinde has held important
positions in the country.
How has been Praniti's political journey so far?
42-year-old Praniti Shinde is a three-time mla from Solapur City Central assembly seat. Praniti is also a
special invitee member of the congress Working Committee. Before Sushil Kumar Shinde's announcement,
Praniti had made a claim regarding the lok sabha elections. Shinde had said in a program that he had given a
clear indication regarding Solapur lok sabha candidature and said that whatever responsibility the party will
assign to us, we will fulfill it. Praniti Shinde expressed confidence that no matter what happens this time, the MP
from Solapur will be from Congress.
