Of the 11,051 private schools in the State, just 50 have filed their yearly administration report, which includes information on fee collection, to the school Education Department thus far. The management of private schools is now required to provide their annual administration report for each fiscal year by september 30 at the latest.
A professional accountant should audit the report, which should include information about fee collection, expenses for staff wages, and other amenities. "We have received feedback from fifty tiny, budget-conscious private schools thus far. According to insiders, the agency may need to launch a special initiative to make sure schools turn in their reports.

The school governing body, which also includes parents selected by the district Educational Officer, has the authority to establish the fees for the unaided private schools. The governing council has been urged to take into account expenses related to staff pay, building rent and maintenance, classroom demands, etc. while determining the school fee structure.
The schools were directed to set aside 50% of the fees received for staff wages, 15% for maintenance, 15% for staff development, and the remaining 15% for staff perks including PF, gratuities, etc. Only 5% of the money received was to be set aside by the management for their own revenue. The schools that filed reports also included information on how they collect fees. The State administration must decide whether to provide these findings to the public, according to sources.
Sources claim that the schools have requested to be excluded from property tax and commercial power tariffs depending on their income and expenses. Sources stated that the government may make a judgement based on the reports that the schools provide, citing their demands for domestic rates for both property tax and electricity.
