Singh from Sohagpur seat of Shahdol district. Political experts say that Sohagpur assembly seat of Shahdol

district was always a stronghold of Congress. Even when former prime minister Indira gandhi had lost the

elections held after the Emergency in the country, Congress's KP Singh had won from Sohagpur seat of

Shahdol.

Shabnam Aunty defeated veterans in election field

Transgender Shabnam aunty lived in Anuppur. Before becoming an mla, she used to earn her living by

dancing and singing in a festive atmosphere. This was the period when there was a lot of anger among the

people towards political parties. people were also very angry with the Digvijay government of Congress.

Shabnam Aunty was inspired from among the public to contest the by-election from Suhagpur seat.

Shabnam Aunty filed her nomination as an independent candidate to become MLA.


A total of 9 people including the authorized candidates of congress and bjp were in the fray. Shabnam

Aunty had got the election symbol kite as an independent candidate. After this, the kite of Janata candidate

or pupil candidate Shabnam Mausi flew so high in the election sky that the other candidates could not even

reach near her. Shabnam Aunty created history by cutting everyone's election kite.
