What did sharad pawar say?

ncp president sharad pawar on friday asked the supreme court to direct maharashtra assembly Speaker

rahul Narvekar to take a decision on the disqualification petitions of shiv sena and ncp MLAs within a

specific time frame. He said that there has been a delay on this. The Speaker had a stake in deciding on the

petitions, and that is why the ncp also approached the apex court. The supreme court on friday strongly

reprimanded the assembly Speaker for the delay in taking a decision on the disqualification petition of Chief

Minister Eknath Shinde.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of india DY Chandrachud said that the decision on the disqualification

petitions will have to be taken before the next assembly elections or the entire process will become futile.

Instructions should be (given) that the decision should be taken within a specific time frame and cannot be

delayed. In response to a question after the supreme Court's comments, Pawar said that shiv sena also has the

same stand. He said that ncp leaders supriya sule and Jitendra Awhad attended the supreme court hearing.

The rebels want a quick decision on the disqualification of the MLAs.
