The ban imposed on minister Udayanidhi for commenting on AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami in the Koda Nadu murder and robbery case has been extended till november 2.

Tamil Nadu sports minister Udayanidhi stalin, in a statement issued on september 7, said that AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami was searching for the meaning of Sanathana in the bookcase of his house. Kodanadu can't hide behind a goatee for long to escape the murder-robbery case. Edappadi had made a comment against Palaniswami saying, "Think what will happen to you when that person disappears."

Edappadi Palanichami has filed a petition in the madras high court claiming that Udhayanidhi has defamed his name in this report and sought damages. The case came up for hearing on september 21 before Justice Manjula. At that time, the Koda Nadu murder and robbery case, which had been under investigation for more than five years, was never summoned for investigation and was not investigated. It was argued by Edappadi Palaniswami that the government machinery should have been investigated as it was at their disposal. Also, there is no case of corruption. There is no evidence in the 2018 corruption complaint filed by a DMK key executive. The preliminary investigation report has been submitted and the government has accepted it and the related case has been dismissed. The defamatory false allegations were made by X on the social networking site, which has been viewed by 672,000 people. It was also argued that defamatory comments were made during the election.

Hearing these arguments, the judge said that although it is customary for political leaders to issue statements to each other, the Udhayanidhi statement from the evidence in the case is defamatory. Allowing this would cause irreparable loss to the petitioner. Therefore, Udhayanidhi imposed an interim ban on stalin not to speak or publish statements about Kodanad.
