On the arrest of Sanjay Singh, CM Kejriwal - This is illegal
Aam Aadmi party (AAP) rajya sabha MP sanjay singh has been arrested by ED. ED arrested Sanjay Singh
after raid in delhi Excise Policy case. The raid was going on at Sanjay Singh’s house since morning. Now AAP
convener and delhi chief minister arvind kejriwal has reacted to this. cm kejriwal has said that the arrest of
sanjay singh is completely illegal. This shows the nervousness of prime minister Narendra Modi. They will
arrest many more opposition leaders till the elections.
Whereas ED will present sanjay singh in the court on Thursday. On the other hand, after the arrest of Sanjay
Singh, AAP leaders and workers are protesting. Earlier in the day, ED had raided Sanjay Singh's residence in this
case. After this he was arrested. Officials said that the premises of some other people linked to the case were also
raided during this operation. ED had earlier interrogated Singh's staff members and other people associated with
him in this case.
ED had registered the case under PMLA
It is alleged that the delhi government's excise policy for 2021-22 for granting licenses to liquor traders
encouraged factionalism and benefited some dealers, who allegedly paid bribes for it. AAP has denied this
allegation. This policy was canceled after the Lieutenant governor of delhi recommended the Central Bureau of
Investigation (CBI) to investigate the matter. Following the recommendation of a cbi investigation, the ED had
registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
