Telangana Hyderabad Police says Charminar vendor was Not Attacked
Initial reports claim that Rashid was attacked by a bunch of kids who were marching with a procession of Ganesh idols from the Hussain Alam side. He suffered wounds to his wrists and head. In an interview with Rashid on Saturday, 30 september, a day after the police had filed a FIR, Rashid said that he had first been contacted by two individuals seeking sweet corn. "Two procession attendees arrived and inquired for sweet corns. Then another individual attempted to remove my stall. Rashid said that they were all inebriated. "When I rebelled, they hit me with a beer bottle on my head, and I started bleeding," he claimed.
Irfan and Abbu, two of Rashid's pals, saw the event happen. Rashid stated, "About 25 people just appeared out of nowhere and started attacking us." The adolescent was assaulted by many members of the same gang the day after being hit with a beer bottle, according to a FIR that was filed the next day by the charminar police.
According to the FIR copy, a case was registered under sections 343 (Wrongful confinement for three or more days), 324 (the person is voluntarily hurt by the use of a dangerous weapon or means), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the indian Penal Code.
