Actor siddharth received an apology from actor prakash raj on "behalf of the people of Karnataka" following the disruption of the latter's news conference in Bengaluru by supporters of the kannada language. In order to promote his movie "Chithha," also known as "Chikku" in kannada, siddharth had travelled to Bengaluru. Members of a pro-Kannada organisation stormed the news conference as he was about to start speaking and requested that it be stopped. siddharth continued to data-face the journalists and start the press conference despite the interruptions.
They objected to the scheduling of the ceremony and urged siddharth to show support for the Cauvery movement, but this caused the situation to worsen. With his hands folded, siddharth thanked the crowd for their patience and departed the gathering in the data-face of their relentless disturbance.
In response to the incident, prakash raj posted on the social media platform X, saying, "Yes..ours..but..all the incompetent political parties that could not solve this problem for decades..without questioning the leaders..without taking to task the lame MPs who did not put pressure on the Central Govt..thus torturing the helpless common people..artists is wrong..as a mirror. I apologise on behalf of Sahrudaya Kannadigas, #Siddharth #justasking. (sic)"
