The district's Chandlapur
village has been chosen as India's top tourism
village for 2023. It is located in the
chinna Koduru mandal. The competition was organised by the union ministry of tourism's Central Nodal Agency for Rural Tourism and Rural Homestay.
Chandlapur hamlet is
home to the Ranganayaka Sagar reservoir, which was constructed as a part of the
kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS). The Nodal Officer for the competition, Kamakshi Maheshwari, informed the Grama
panchayat in a message that 795 applications had come from 31 States and union territories.
Because Chandlapur outperformed all other villages in the competition for the greatest tourism
village in 2023 on nine different metrics, it was chosen as the winner. The State Tourism Department and Grama
panchayat have been instructed by the Nodal Officer to send one representative each so they can collect the symbol of recognition during a function on
september 27 in New Delhi. The Grama
panchayat and the

harish rao for winning the tournament.
Due to its performance on nine criteria used to choose the greatest tourism
village for 2023, Chandlapur was chosen as the winner. The State Tourism Department and the Gramme
panchayat have been requested by the Nodal Officer to send one representative each to accept the symbol of recognition during a function that will be conducted in New
delhi on
september 27. The Grama
panchayat and the residents were honoured for winning the tournament by Finance
minister T Harish Rao.
