Telangana - The Road cum Rail bridge will be closed for a month from 27 for repairs
According to collector Dr. K madhavi Latha, traffic on the road-cum-rail bridge between kovvur and rajamahendravaram in east godavari district will be suspended from october 27 to october 26 for repairs to the central carriageway, viaduct portion, and damaged secondary joints, including approaches. After R&B authorities requested that traffic be diverted so that these critical repairs could be made, this was done.
The collector stated that the rehabilitation of the carriageway, which is around 4.5 km long B.T. (Black Top Road), will cost Rs. 210 lakh and will include specific repair work of geo-glass grids at secondary joints. It is said that the tendering procedure for this has been finished. She said that a milling machine had previously been used to remove the BT surdata-face.
The police and transport department representatives should keep an eye on the traffic diversion orders, she said. Additionally, other routes are to be used by apsrtc buses.
