SGPC termed the sourness between India and Canada as a serious matter

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has reacted on tuesday (September 19) against the

backdrop of souring of diplomatic relations between india and canada over the murder of a Khalistani leader.

SGPC said the matter is very serious and will affect Sikhs all over the world.

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau has alleged the involvement of agents of the indian government in the

murder of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June. After which canada and india have expelled one

senior diplomat each from their respective countries. At the same time, india has completely rejected this claim

of Justin Trudeau, calling it absurd and motivated by personal interest. However, the indian government

rejected the Canadian government’s allegations and expelled a Canadian diplomat, the Shiromani Gurdwara

Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), the apex religious body of the Sikhs, said.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee said that this matter is very serious and will affect Sikhs globally.

SGPC chief harjinder singh Dhami on tuesday (September 19) appealed to the Center to resolve the issues of

Sikhs in india and move towards appropriate and meaningful solutions by understanding the problems and

sentiments of the Sikh community living abroad. harjinder singh Dhami said, The expulsion of an Indian

diplomat by the Canadian government after being accused in the murder case of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in

canada raises many questions.
