Saudi - World’s Tallest Building Jeddah Tower Construction Works Resume

Construction on the jeddah Tower project has restarted in the Kingdom of saudi arabia (KSA), according to the jeddah Economic Company (JEC). With a height of more than 1,000 meters, the tower construction will be the tallest in the world. The construction company has been invited to submit bids for a contract to finish the record-breaking building by the end of this year. When contacted by MEED, Talal Ibrahim Almaiman, CEO of Kingdom Holding Company, acknowledged the publication of the formal tender.

•  Nesma & Partners (local)
•  Powerchina (China)
•  samsung C+T (South Korea)
•  Saudi Freyssinet (local)
•  Skanska (Sweden)
•  Strabag (Europe)

The corporations are expected to form joint ventures with both domestic and foreign partners after giving the contractors three months to submit their bids. The groundbreaking tower's foundation and piling operations were successfully finished. Since the construction started in 2013, there have been numerous delays, and it was stopped in 2018.
The highlight of jeddah Economic City, jeddah Tower will be constructed to surpass Dubai's Burj Khalifa by more than 172 metres in height. Shopping centres, upscale boutiques, fine dining establishments, tennis courts, and other amenities will all be included in the tower.
