Defunct lighting have made life in the city even more difficult for people, generating hardship for both commuters and locals and leading to numerous accidents. Residents claim that despite several complaints, nothing has been done about them. Rains over the past several days have resulted in waterlogging in a number of areas, making it challenging for locals to commute. Streetlights that aren't working properly have made matters worse. The absence of illumination has caused problems for the commuters.
Residents claim that because streetlights have been out for a few days and no one is paying attention to fixing them, they are experiencing inconvenience. In several neighbourhoods, including srinagar Colony, Jubilee Hills, Ameerpet, Yousufguda, Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Shaikpet, Malakpet, Santosh Nagar, Nampally, red Hills, Vijaynagar, and in certain portions of the Old City, the lighting along the major roads leading to colonies are broken. Locals in kukatpally claim that several portions of the region go completely black when evening approaches since many of the lighting there are inoperable.

According to sriram of Ameerpet, there are miles of road without any visible illumination, and the problem becomes worse when it rains. With rain, potholes are an issue on practically all roadways. The roads become flooded, making it impossible to view a road and judge the depth of potholes, which causes accidents, he continued. Residents accuse the relevant agencies of neglecting to fix damaged roads or build new ones where necessary. Although lights were installed in certain locations a few months ago, they only sporadically work, according to social activist Mohammed Ahmed.

Bicycle commuters, particularly those who go on two wheels, run the danger of getting hurt on these areas. At night, when there is a chance of losing life, they are greatly threatened by rain, waterlogging, potholes, and broken lighting. ahmed claimed that the government's promises to fix and install lights at various locations turned out to be a ruse. He remembered locals often protesting and bringing the matter up with the relevant authority, but to no avail.

The road is scarcely visible at night in Ramnastpura, Bahadurpura, and other localities. After it rains, things get worse. "I saw numerous drivers wobbling as they pass the stretch. Authorities must improve commuter safety and quickly restore broken lights, according to Ahmed. The same thing is happening in several colonies and alleyways all across the city. Despite several complaints, repair work on the broken streetlights has not been started. "Nighttime travel, especially after rain, is dangerous. Additionally, dog assaults have increased at night. dogs are pursuing commuters on bikes and in other vehicles. Asif Hussain Sohail, a resident of Shaikpet's surya Nagar community, claimed that as a result, drivers are losing their balance and having accidents.
