2024 Elections: BJP - Secular Janata Dal alliance for sure..!?
“Deva Gowda visited delhi this week and met Union home minister amit Shah. JDS originally claimed 8 seats. bjp said that it can give only three seats. Finally, there is a consensus to share four to five seats.” BS Yeddyurappa said. The alliance with the secular Janata Dal has given us great strength. Yeddyurappa also expressed hope that this alliance will help to capture 25 or 26 lok sabha constituencies together.
Hassan, Mandya, Bengaluru Urakam, Chikkaballapur and Tumkur constituencies are likely to be allotted to the secular Janata Dal. At the same time, there are reports that the party is reluctant to give up Chikkaballapur, the sitting constituency of BJP. But sources in the secular Janata Dal party say that it will not be a full-fledged alliance where the leaders of both the parties will engage in mutual election campaigns. They also say that instead of calling it an alliance, it would be better if there was an understanding of the constituency distribution. Earlier, it may be recalled that party leader Deve Gowda had recently said that the secular Janata Dal would contest the lok sabha elections alone.
BJP won 25 seats in 2019 lok sabha elections in Karnataka. An independent candidate won with bjp support. congress and JD(S) won one seat each.
