It was widely believed that "India" will be removed from the indian Constitution's Article 1 after the Modi-led central government started using the moniker Bharat in official correspondence on Tuesday. Politicians from the telugu state said that the incident was only a political matter and had no further relevance. The BRS and mim in telangana, the YSRC and TD in Andhra Pradesh, and the congress all expressed their disapproval of the action.

State bjp officials supported the action, and its partner Jana Sena also came out in favour. Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of mim, didn't speak when he typically spoke out in response to a bjp political action. The BRS high brass was in a similar situation. The YSRC and the TD, which have been vying to win prime minister Narendra Modi's favour, remained mute.

N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, a congress mp who was recently added to his party's Central election Committee, claimed that Modi's decision to quit india was simply a ruse to get people to pay less attention to urgent problems like inflation and unemployment. "Both india and Bharat are used. As the resurgent Opposition titled its coalition I.N.D.I.A., it looks to me that Modi wants to omit india, said congress Legislative party leader M. Bhatti Vikramarka.

Pawan Kalyan, the leader of Jana Sena, has pushed for the usage of the term Bharat in a number of forums. He has previously declared, "India reminds me of colonial slavery and should be dropped." When reached, former BRS mp and deputy chairman of the State Planning Board B. vinod kumar stated: "The Constituent assembly with its great wisdom declared 'India, that is Bharat, is a union of states in the Preamble'. Since our independence, we have been using both names, which are actually synonyms. Where is there now a need for changes? He said, "We shouldn't be seen as degrading our own country with these unjustified debates or actions."

What has changed in kolkata since calcutta was renamed? Following this, has the way of life of Bengalis altered in any way? The same is true for the transition from bombay to mumbai and from madras to Chennai. Did the godavari river change its course when chandrababu naidu renamed Rajahmundry? congress will decide whether to adopt the modification or not. Why are they behaving afraid?" he questioned.

Hindu Sena rahul Gandhi, the head of the congress, was criticised for his "dual standards" by telangana unit president S. Sivaji. "Why did he choose the name Bharat Jodo yatra for his padayatra? Why would he wish to carry on the british tradition, he asked.
