Dr. Kafeel Khan Leschi has said that the people of tamil Nadu do not see religious differences. Gorakhpur Hospital, Uttar Pradesh state, two names immediately come to mind. One is chief minister yogi adityanath and the other is doctor Kafeel Khan. In 2017, 80 people, including 63 infants, died consecutively due to brain swelling at the government-owned baba Raghavdas Medical college Hospital in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. This incident, which took place five months after yogi adityanath took over as the chief minister of the newly formed bjp government in the state, became a major problem for that government. Gorakhpur is yogi Adityanath's home constituency.

Doctor Kafeel Khan was arrested for acting negligently in this matter. He was suspended from duty. But reports surdata-faced that he saved some children's lives by buying oxygen cylinders with his own money. Kafeel Khan, who was made a scapegoat, served about 9 months in jail. But Kafeel Khan, the committee that conducted the investigation in this regard, did not act negligently. It said that on the night of the incident, he bought oxygen cylinders with his own money as much as he could and fought to save the lives of the children. With this, the Kafeel Khan issue did not rest. In 2019, he was arrested under the National Security Act for speaking at aligarh Muslim university on the citizenship amendment act and was tortured in jail. His family was also attacked. In 2018, his brother was shot.

The wrath of the yogi Adityanath-led bjp government chased him. Due to this, he has been living in tamil Nadu for the past one year. He is working as a pediatrician in a private hospital here. Kafeel Khan has written his true experience as a book titled The Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy: A Doctor's Memory of a Deadly Medical Crisis. In it, he mentioned his bitter experiences. The book has been translated into tamil as Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy: Memoirs of a Doctor. The book has already been translated into Hindi, malayalam and Marathi languages. The book, which has been translated into tamil, was released in chennai last Saturday. Then, Kafeel Khan shared his grief over the tragic incident that happened to the children at the hospital. Further, in an interview to a private news website about living in tamil Nadu, he said, “The difference I have seen in tamil Nadu from North india is that although the people here are very religious and every house here has a picture of some god, they do not discriminate on the basis of religion. They think religion is a personal issue, so they don't discriminate whether they are Hindus or Muslims." He said. Continuing, he said, “Vegetarian and chicken biryani are eaten at the same table in the tamilnadu hospital mess. No one said you shouldn't eat meat in front of me. This difference exists because of people's access to education. In states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, girls are married off after completing schooling. But education is given importance here.” He said excitedly.

Talking about going back to Uttar Pradesh, he said, “Uttar Pradesh is my home state, Gorakhpur is my birthplace. But my family is scared.” He said.
