Telangana TSRTC earns record revenue of Rs 22.65 crores on Raksha Bandhan

On Thursday, Raksha Bandhan, the telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) registered a revenue of Rs 22.65 crore, breaking a previous record. A total of 40.92 lakh people were transported around the state, an increase of more than 1 lakh over the previous year. On the day of the celebration the previous year, the corporation made Rs 21.66 crore. Compared to 35.54 lakh km traveled last year, rtc buses traveled 36.77 lakh km this time. This time, the nalgonda district's bus occupancy ratio (OR) greatly improved.

Last year, it had an OR of 101.01 percent; this year, it was 104.68 percent. The bus occupancy rates at the other six depots, excluding Narketpally, were greater than 100%. Although the district has nine depots, six of them have achieved better than 100% OR. Previously Medak, Mahbubnagar, and karimnagar were also included in the RTC's OR success rate of above 90%.
The occupancy rate crossed over 100 percent at 20 depots of Huzurabad, nalgonda, Bhupalpally, Husnabad, Parakala, Kalwakurti, Thorrur, Mahabubabad, Miryalaguda, Devarakonda, Yadagirigutta, Gajwel-Pragnapur, Kodada, Narsampeta, Suryapet, Dubbaka, Jangaon, Siddipet, Godavarikhani and Shadnagar. TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Govardhan and MD VC Sajjanar said, “Approximately 41 lakh passengers travelled using rtc buses on a single day.”

“Never in the history of undivided andhra pradesh and telangana has the transport corporation earned Rs 22.65 crore in revenue on a single day. Last Rakhi, only 12 depots achieved more than 100 percent OR and this time 20 depots did the feat,” said the chairman.
