Aspirants are travelling to hyderabad and New delhi in advance of the release of the first list of candidates, intensifying the lobby for congress tickets in an effort to gain favour with the party's leadership. 53 people from 12 assembly constituencies in the former warangal district and 69 from 13 assembly segments in the former karimnagar district filed for tickets. The party would have no trouble selecting candidates from Manthani, mulugu, Manakondur, Jagtial, and Bhupalpally, where there was just one applicant.

Congress legislators D. sridhar Babu and Seethakka are in charge of the Manthani and mulugu sectors, respectively. 15 hopefuls from karimnagar, 11 from Wardhannapet, and 7 from Dharmapuri are competing. In Korutla, warangal West, Station Ghanpur, and Mahabubabad, there are six candidates running for each segment's seat, however only five are vying for the Parkal seat.
